LIP BLUSH

Whether you have dark lips, undefined lips, pale lips, or patchy lips, Lip Blush is a versatile treatment designed to enhance your natural beauty. This semi-permanent cosmetic procedure gives your lips a soft, natural-looking tint that complements your complexion, making it the ideal choice for anyone looking to achieve a fresh, subtle look.

Who is it for?

1. Dark Lips

If you have melanin-rich lips or hyperpigmentation, a specialized neutralization process is required before adding the desired color. This involves:
✅ Lip Neutralization – A warm-based pigment is used to balance cool or dark tones. (additional step)
✅ Gradual Lightening – Multiple sessions may be needed to achieve an even, natural-looking hue.
✅ Customized Shades – After neutralization, a flattering shade is applied to enhance the lips' beauty to complement your skin tone.

2. Pale Lips

For naturally light lips, lip blush adds definition and a healthy flush of color:
✅ Soft Tint Effect – Mimics the look of naturally rosy, youthful lips.
✅ Increased Definition – Enhances the lip border for a fuller appearance.
✅ Custom Colors – Choose from soft pinks, peaches, or natural nudes for a subtle enhancement.

3. Uneven Lips

Lip blush can correct asymmetry and uneven pigmentation:
✅ Even Color Distribution – Balances discoloration for a more uniform look.
✅ Enhanced Lip Shape – Helps define the natural lip line and improve symmetry.
✅ Blended Shading – A soft, blended effect ensures a natural, seamless transition.

Difference between Lip Blush & Lip Embroidery

While both Lip Blush and Lip Embroidery are popular semi-permanent makeup treatments, they serve different purposes:

  • Lip Blush: This technique is designed to create a soft, natural blush pink color, mimicking the natural tint of your lips. It's perfect for those who want a subtle enhancement that blends seamlessly with their natural lip color. Lip Blush is also a great option for men who desire a more defined lip contour without the look of wearing makeup.

  • Lip Embroidery: In contrast, Lip Embroidery is more intense and gives a lipstick-like effect. This treatment provides a bolder, more defined lip color, similar to wearing a lip tint or lipstick. While it's ideal for those who prefer a more dramatic look, it may not be as suitable for men who prefer a more natural appearance.

All about the "Ghosting" Phase

When undergoing a Lip Blush treatment, it's important to be aware of the "ghosting phase," a temporary stage in the healing process that can surprise first-timers. During this phase, the color of your lips may appear much lighter or even seem to have disappeared entirely, creating a "ghosted" effect.

What Is the Ghosting Phase?
The ghosting phase typically occurs about 1 - 2 months after your Lip Blush procedure. As your lips begin to heal, the top layer of skin sheds, which can cause the initial pigment to fade significantly. This is a normal part of the healing process and doesn't mean that your treatment was unsuccessful.

Why Does It Happen?
Ghosting happens because the skin is renewing itself. As the outer layer of the skin exfoliates, it temporarily takes some of the pigment with it. However, once the skin regenerates and heals completely, the color will gradually return, usually within 1-2 months, revealing the final result of your Lip Blush treatment.

What to Expect After the Ghosting Phase
Once the ghosting phase has passed, you can expect the color to come back, often appearing more natural and even than immediately after the procedure. The final hue will be a soft, natural blush that enhances your lips without the need for daily makeup.

Understanding the ghosting phase helps set realistic expectations, allowing you to appreciate the full beauty of your Lip Blush once the healing process is complete.

Pre-Care Instructions (Before Your Appointment)

To ensure optimal results and minimize complications, follow these guidelines:

Hydrate Your Lips – Dry or chapped lips won’t hold pigment well. Exfoliate gently and keep them moisturized with lip balm for a few days before your appointment.
Avoid Blood Thinners – Refrain from alcohol, caffeine, aspirin, ibuprofen, and fish oil supplements at least 24-48 hours before your session to reduce bleeding and pigment loss.
Cold Sore Prevention – If you’re prone to cold sores, take antiviral medication (such as Valtrex or Lysine) 2-3 days before and after your procedure to prevent flare-ups. Lip blush can trigger cold sores if you have the herpes simplex virus.
No Lip Filler Beforehand – If you recently had lip filler, wait at least 4-6 weeks before getting lip blush.
Avoid Exfoliating Treatments – No chemical peels, laser treatments, or retinol near the lip area at least 2 weeks before your appointment.
Stay Hydrated – Drink plenty of water and avoid excessive sun exposure leading up to your session.

 Aftercare Instructions (Healing Process & Do’s & Don’ts)

Your lips will go through different healing phases. Here’s how to care for them properly:

First 24-48 Hours

Keep lips clean and dry. Blot them gently with a clean tissue if necessary.
Apply a thin layer of the provided healing ointment (such as Aquaphor or a recommended balm).
Use a straw for drinking to avoid direct contact with liquids.
Avoid touching, licking, or picking at your lips.

 Days 3-7 (Peeling Phase)

Lips may start to flake and lightly scab—DO NOT PICK at the peeling skin!
Keep applying a thin layer of healing ointment to prevent excessive dryness.
Avoid spicy, salty, or citrus foods that may irritate the lips.
Continue avoiding alcohol, caffeine, and smoking, as they can slow healing.

Days 7-14 (Healing & Color Settling)

Your lips will start looking more natural as the color softens.
Keep lips moisturized at all times with a hydrating lip balm.
Avoid excessive sun exposure—use SPF on your lips if you go outside.
The color may appear lighter or patchy at first; this is normal and will adjust over time.

What to Avoid (For At Least 2 Weeks)

No kissing, rubbing, or friction on the lips.
No swimming, saunas, or intense workouts that cause sweating.
No makeup or skincare products directly on the lips.
No exfoliation or scrubbing of the lips.
